Tiruchirapalli is the fourth largest city of Tamil Nadu and situated in the center of South India. It lies on the banks of the river Cauvery, a very flourishing commercial center and famous for its culture and tourism importance. It is also glorious for production of artificial diamonds, cigars, handloom cloth, glass bangles, wooden and clay toys. Rock Fort is the spectacular monument of 83m high outcrop and center of attraction and the city was ruled by the Cholas first and later by the Pallavas. ECONOMY:

Tiruchirapalli is a vast Engineering, Energy Equipment and Fabrication Center in Tamil Nadu. The Golden Rock Locomotive Workshop is one of the three Railway Locomotive manufacturing units in Tamil Nadu. A High Pressure Boiler Manufacturing Plant was commissioned by the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) which is the largest Public Sector Engineering Company in India. Trichy Distilleries & Chemicals Limited (TDCL) and the Trichy Steel Rolling Mills (TSRM) are the other important manufacturing units of Tiruchirapalli. EID Parry’s Sugar Factory, Dalmia Group Cement Factory at Dalmiapuram and Cethar Vessels are some major manufacturing units located on the outskirts of Tiruchirapalli. The ELCOT IT Park has been commissioned at Tiruchirapalli recently by the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

The Nilgri Hills consist of a range of mountains with 24 peaks situated over 2000 meters above the sea level. It is located in the western part of Tamil Nadu at the borders of Karnataka and Kerala States. In 1827 Ooty became the Sanatorium and the summer capital. KANYAKUMARI - Tourist places & shopping spots

Kanyakumari is a town located at the southernmost end of the Indian Peninsula. It is also called “Cape Comorin” and a most popular tourist place in India. The beauty of the town is that the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean meet in one place and the pilgrims are taking a holy dip in it. The closest major cities are viz.
